In 1994, the first International Theater Festival in Moldova, the "EUGÈNE IONESCO" THEATER BIENNAL — BITEI, with the title PLANET IONESCO, being dedicated to the dramaturgy of Eugène Ionesco. This festival brings together under its auspices the most diverse theater collectives, which do not hesitate to challenge, to experiment, to ask uncomfortable questions. Over time, the festival has become a beautiful tradition of local theatrical life.
