About the performance: I am the wind is a 2007 play by the Norwegian playwright Jon Fosse. It tells about two men, The One and The Other, who travel by boat until The One commits suicide by drowning himself.
I am the wind... One man or two men... Men or women... China, Norway or Moldova... None of these matters. What really matters is the voyage of living our meditations on our inner world and life itself.
About the theater: Theatre Chrisma Art Centre is a subsidiary troupe of Shanghai F.H. Cultural Development Corp. Ltd.
TCAC was initiated by painter, director, and architect Mr. Wang Lei and jointly established by theatre director Liu Yang and their colleagues in September 2019.
It aims to provide some possibilities for experimental practices and academic explorations under the current entertaining tendency of theatre.
The troupe consists of some “old guys”, who have been in the theatre community for many years, and some “new faces”, who are mainly the theatre teachers and master’s students of Shanghai Theatre Academy.
TCAC has participated in academic research and experimental theater productions. Its repertoire includes plays by Samuel Beckett, Harold Pinter, Jon Fosse, Eugène Ionesco, etc.
