About the show: A modern take on the classic Macbeth, directed by Mihai Ţărnă, inspired by the works of William Shakespeare and Eugène Ionesco. A tragedy, which brings to the fore the frantic passion, which causes political upheavals and the defiance of moral values.

The three witches’ prediction that Macbeth is destined to become king causes Macbeth and his wife, Lady Macbeth, to receive the news as an all-too-desired reality. Staying overnight in Macbeth’s castle, Duncan, King of Scotland, in the midst of the feast, is assassinated. Macbeth becomes king of Scotland. Thus, the prediction of the three witches comes true.

The swamp of pride sucks Macbeth deeper and deeper, and Lady Macbeth no longer succeeds in braving her husband. Remorse begins to consume her, and the loss of sleep is their reward for betrayal and murder. At Macbeth’s next meeting with the three witches, he is foretold that only a man not born of a woman can kill him and that only then would his end be possible. Could it be true?

The Republican Theatre for Children and Youth was created on August 1, 1989 by the great theatre artist Ion Sandri Şcurea. Starting with 2006, the stage direction is taken by T. Ţărnă. From April 2017, Mihai Ţarnă became the chief director of the theatre, and from February 2018 the theatre was renamed as The Nameless Theatre, being part of the Ginta Latină Culture and Art Center.

From 2020, the director of Ginta Latină Culture and Art Center becomes Nicu Ţărnă. The idea of renaming the theatre belongs to the chief director Mihai Țarnă. Through this change, the theatre gave itself a chance for a new life and a new way of communicating with the audience. Once you step into the theatre, you give up your name and have two hours to be a nameless human or become someone else. We simply choose to be. We do not go into records, but into memories.
