About the performance: Our story has two wandering sons. The first one, like the one in The Gospel According to Luke, went to Italy to \u201cmultiply talents\u201d, and the second became an actor. Each one of them lived a tumultuous life... And here they are now, in the twilight of life, returning to their parental home, bringing with them life experiences, full of adventures and sins, nostalgia and regrets. They (re)pave long-forgotten paths towards their souls; they remember hazy stories from their distant childhood and adolescence; they make confessions that they should have made many, many years ago... And they always invoke Mother, the gentle spirit of the abandoned house... At one point, overwhelmed by emotions, one of the brothers makes a confession. \u201cI\u2019m at the age where some things are no longer worth doing. There\u2019s no point in learning another language; there\u2019s no point in trying a new love; there\u2019s no point in trying to convince someone to do something; there\u2019s no point, there\u2019s no point... Oh, really, damn this. I\u2019m desperate...\u201d<\/p>

About the theater: The Vasile Alecsandri National Theatre in Ia\u0219i is the first national theatre in Romania. It was founded in 1840, under the direction of Costache Negruzzi, Vasile Alecsandri and Mihail Kog\u0103lniceanu, after the first play in Romanian was performed in Ia\u0219i, in 1816.<\/p>

The centennial building of the National Theatre in Ia\u0219i is classified as a historical monument and is rated as the most beautiful and refined of the series of 42 theatres built in Europe by the Austrian architects Fellner and Helmer.<\/p>

The four own performance halls, the density of the repertory program, and the cultivation of a quality theatrical language have created a strong brand that has entered the cultural and civic consciousness: the oldest theatre in the country, the newest theatre complex.<\/p>
